SB140
After a long battle, Senate Bill 140 was successfully defeated in California yesterday. SB140, had it passed, would define vapour products as “tobacco products”, prohibit vaping where smoking is currently banned, prohibit vaping in some private residences and group homes, in addition to having many other affects.
This was a key moment for our industry, certainly a turn in the tide. After months of anti vaping propaganda, the vape industry prevailed. Through the hard work of advocacy groups and the effort of the countless vapers who made calls and sent in e-mails.
This was a decisive victory for vaping, a major battle has been won, but the war still rages on. This won`t be the last time we have to fight against unfair regulation. This victory should serve as proof that by presenting a united front, and mobilizing the industry is big enough and strong enough to fight back against our opponents. We can make a difference, but only by working together.
Your continued involvement and support will still be needed as this industry continues towards the future, and any legal fights the future may bring. The more our community works together to educate and offset the misinformation in the media with the truth about vaping, and vape products, the better off the future of this industry will be.
Remember, we’re in this together and we’re a strong community. So let’s show the world what we can do – let’s unite, let’s promote awareness, and let’s work together to preserve the future of this significant alternative to smoking cigarettes!
